COULD WE OWE YOU MONEY?! Check for free.
Have you pawned anything at our store?
Did you not come back to redeem your item(s)?
If so, there MAY be money owed to you.
Why might I be owed money?
In the minority of cases where pawnbroking clients do not redeem their jewellery, we follow a documented procedure to sell it. From the proceeds of the sale(s), we deduct the loan amount, any interest accrued up to the date of sale and the reasonable costs of sale. Once this has been deducted from the proceeds of the sale(s), there is sometimes a “surplus” sum of money left over which is then repayable to YOU.
Do I need to contact you to know whether there is any money owed to me?
We do send out an Advice of Sale letter to the name and address listed on the original pawnbroking agreement, which details the sums and advises of any money owed back to you. However, sometimes this letter may not reach the intended recipient and this may be due to a number of reasons, i.e. customers may have moved/passed away, customers do not understand the letter they have received, customers have misplaced their original agreement, some customers may consider the amount too small to claim or fear it is too complex to claim. It’s a shame to think that not all surplus we create for clients is collected!
If in any doubt, please do make contact with us as described below (NOT BY EMAIL) so that we can check if you’re owed any money.
We are more than happy to do it, the service is of course FREE and there is no risk that you will owe us more money arising from such a contract, under normal circumstances.
How do I contact the store to check if there is any money owed back to me?
WHAT TO DO:
If you have it, please bring your original pawnbroking agreement to the store. If instead (or aswell) you have any letters from us, bring those along too.
Bring appropriate identification. If you are still at the same address, then this should be PHOTO ID, i.e. passport/driving license AND ADDRESS ID, i.e. utility bill, HMRC letter, bank statement or similar showing your name, the same address and dated within the last three months.
If you have moved address then this should be BOTH of the above AND identification showing your name, but in the OLD address or otherwise demonstrating that you lived there when the original agreement was made.
When in store with the relevant identification as listed above, tell the pawnbroking assistants that you would like to see if there is any surplus repayable to you.
THAT’S IT!
We’ll take it from there and in many cases will be able to give you an answer on the spot.
